Inspired to create a better view from and of the home, Andersen Windows, Inc. developed the TruScene® insect screen. TruScene insect screens are made with a virtually invisible, stainless steel screen material that provides clearer views, greater airflow and are less visible from outside the home.

“Homeowners have told us over and over that they hate having insect screens on their windows because it detracts from the view,” said Shawn Aherns, window and door marketing manager at Andersen. “With the TruScene insect screen, we’ve given our customers a more attractive home and a better view of the outdoors.”

With over 50 percent more clarity than standard Andersen aluminum insect screens, the TruScene insect screen practically disappears in a window and doesn’t detract from the beauty of the home. It is made with a micro-fine stainless steel mesh that’s one-third the diameter of conventional screen wire to let more fresh air and sunlight in, while protecting against insects.

TruScene insect screen frames are available in colors and finishes that blend with the Andersen windows that surround them. They are available in white, stone or unfinished pine for awning and casement windows; and white, Sandtone, Terratone® and forest green for double-hung and gliding windows.
